With over 34 years working in Asia, Robert is a veteran of the Asian private Club and Hospitality sector. He has amassed a wealth of experience managing some of the region’s most prestigious and recognised Club’s (The Hong Kong Club, Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, Sentosa Golf Club, Raffles Marina, Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club)

Living and working in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia, his cross-cultural management has taken in Golf Club’s, Yacht Club’s, Marina’s, City Club’s and multi-disciplined consultancy projects, including a number of new Club openings.

Having enjoyed success in implementing programmes in staff training / service enhancement / improved profitability / branding / strategic planning and many more, Robert has developed a well-honed understanding of what makes a Club successful and has extensive experience working in Member owned Clubs as well as Proprietary Clubs.

Involvement with the management and hosting of major Golf Tournaments (Singapore Open, Malaysian Open, LPGA Malaysia, British Open Asian Qualifier) and Sailing Regattas (China Sea Race, Hai Nan Race, China Coast Race Week, Straits Regatta) has helped develop an extensive network amongst the major players in these two sports and an understanding of the commercial, media, marketing and operational aspects of large scale international sporting events.

Robert maintains an extensive and active network of International contacts in the Leisure and Hospitality Industry.

In his spare time, he likes to visit parts of Golf courses rarely seen by other players, and leisurely cruising on other people’s boats.
